Amazing what food can do!

Day 3 of being home and Bryan is starting to show improvement.

As I thought about it yesterday, I realized the fact that Bryan had had very little to eat for 9 days. Yes they gave him that IV fluid to keep him alive, but apple juice and Popsicle's don't give you much energy.

When Bryan entered the hospital Friday night, they took him off of food. Just in case they were to do surgery. When the doctor decided to due surgery Tuesday morning, Bryan still hadn't had anything to eat. Then after the surgery, he couldn't eat until the bowels started to work. By Friday, one week later he talked the doctor into letting him have some apple juice and popsicle's. He even have a choice-red, blue or yellow. It wasn't until until Saturday evening that he added cream of wheat, milk and chicken broth to his menu. We have kept him on a soft diet, but not that soft. It is interesting to see the difference in his energy when food is added to his life.

Bryan is still moving slow. And don't make him cough or laugh. He is sure his insides are coming out when he does. He hates being cold (probably because he is getting very thin) and the hot flashes that come with being weak are unbearable. I told him that he is just trying to catch me. He now knows what an epidermal feels like. How much it hurts to sit on your behind after surgery, and now he is experiencing hot flashes just like menopause.

Bryan felt like he needed to keep a commitment at work, so his dad drove him out to Wendover to meet with the golf pro to place an order of shirts (no he didn't golf a round). He did remarkable and said the trip was successful. Although when he went into work, they asked him what he thought he was doing and told him he looked very thin.

Bryan continues to push even though I know he would love to just curl up with a blanket and watch ESPN.

Good Job Bryan--you are amazing.
